Every Nd5 cartridge is meticulously handcrafted by Rega's skilled technicians. Featuring a perfect elliptical nude diamond stylus profile, created through an elliptical grinding process from polycrystalline manmade diamond, it ensures exceptional audio precision. The innovative generator geometry with perfect symmetry provides accurate channel balance, while the optimized pole gap enhances linearity and cross-talk characteristics, delivering a significantly wider soundstage compared to previous models.
This new cartridge design incorporates miniaturized parallel coils, wound in-house with 38-micron wire and 1275 turns, resulting in a low inductance, low impedance generator that greatly improves high-frequency response. In line with our sustainability commitment, the Nd range comes in 100% recyclable packaging.

Nd Magnet Technology
Commonly used in Moving Coil designs, the Nd5 is pioneering as the first moving magnet cartridge to feature a Neodymium (Nd) N55 magnet. Recognized as the world’s most powerful commercially available magnet, the Nd N55 delivers significantly more power than standard bar magnets. This exceptional magnet is a key component in the unique design of the Nd5, enabling superior audio performance.
Glass Filled PPS Body
The entire Nd5 assembly is encased in a zero-tolerance, injection-molded, glass-filled polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) body. This lightweight, highly rigid material minimizes stress on tonearm bearings, ensuring smooth movement essential for accurate vinyl playback. The innovative body design, inspired by our acclaimed MC range, enhances performance and durability.
Cantilever & Stylus Profile
The Nd5 features an aluminum cantilever fitted with a precision-perfect elliptical nude diamond stylus. This advanced stylus profile ensures exceptional tracking accuracy, extracting greater levels of detail from the vinyl surface for a superior listening experience.
Factory Fitted Options
The Nd5 cartridge will be available as a factory-fitted option on the multi-award-winning Planar 3 and Planar 6 turntable models. Specifically designed for these turntables, the Nd5 maximizes the performance of your vinyl collection.
