DALI Opticon 6 MK2 Floorstanding Speaker (Pair)

The hybrid tweeter offers a significant advance in high frequency resolution and has been improved for OPTICON MK2 by incorporating the CALLISTO derived 29mm dome alongside a 17mm x 45mm ribbon element in a re-engineered, cast aluminium faceplate. OPTICON 6 MK2 low frequencies and midrange are handled by twin 61⁄2” Wood Fibre diaphragm, SMC magnet bass/midrange drivers, the lower one of which is gradually attenuated into the midrange band.

The OPTICON 6 MK2 offers optional bi-wiring to enable its bass/midrange and high frequency sections to be connected independently. Twin bass drivers, Dual Flare reflex loading, and the increased internal volume provided by its floor standing enclosure enable the OPTICON 6 MK2 to achieve significantly greater low frequency extension and bass volume level than the stand mount OPTICON MK2 systems. And it combines that bass performance with brilliant, midrange clarity and the sparkling high frequencies that are characteristic of the DALI hybrid tweeter.

The OPTICON 6 MK2 is supplied with cast aluminium foot components that can be fitted with either black chrome plated floor-spikes or, when installed on sensitive floor surfaces, vibration damping pads. Tools for attaching the foot castings and spikes are included.

The new series has six models in the range all benefit from the latest in new technologies and innovations to offer class-leading performance that defines TRUE HIFI!. DALI OPTICON MK2 is available in the following models: 1, 2, 6, 8, LCR and VOKAL. The Dali Opticon 6 is the smallest floorstanding speaker in the new range.

Their fresh new aesthetic design offers a significant visual upgrade from the original OPTICON series. The front baffle appears in either white or black matte and provides a rigid foundation for the drivers. The baffles are complimented by three new cabinet finishes; Satin Black, Satin White or Tobacco Oak*. The MK2 grilles are also covered in a new furniture grade textured fabric, in black for the two darker finishes and a light grey for the white finish.

The tweeters have been upgraded to a 29mm soft dome tweeter, which has been derived from the CALLISTO series. These are used across all six OPTICON MK2 models. The new tweeter faceplates are made from cast aluminium and provide the speakers with a fantastic new DALI signature look. The bass and mid-range drivers incorporate the unique DALI wood fibre diaphragms and the SMC (Soft Magnet Compound) technology derived from the flagship DALI EPICON series.

Further upgrades on the MK2 series include the Dual Flare reflex ports, resulting in reduced turbulence and noise from the cabinet. The crossovers have also been re-designed with upgraded components to minimise loss even further. The OPTICON MK2 series will appeal to true music lovers, movie fanatics and audiophiles alike, offering a wide selection of speakers to suit every room and occasion.
